When you convert or change an improper fraction to a mixed number or a mixed number to an improper fraction, the values of each are still the same. **Converting Mixed Numbers to Improper Fractions**

Multiply the denominator of the fraction by the whole number. Add the numerator to the product. Put that sum over the original denominator.
