Step 1: multiply the whole number by the denominator. Step 2: add that product to the numerator Step 3: place that sum over the given denominator. Example: 2 Step 1: 2x4=8 Step 2: 8+3=11 Step 3: How can you move from improper fractions to mixed numbers? Step 1: Divide the numerator by the denominator to get a whole number Step 2: Put the remainder over the denominator. Simplify. Example: __9 Step 1: 4/ 38 - 36 __9 = 9 Step 2: 4/ 38 - 36 2
