18. Northern Ireland Northern counties were home to many British Protestants that remain loyal to United Kingdom. Southern counties won their independence from Britain in 1921 and became the “Republic of Ireland”

23. The Economy Potatoes, barley, wheat, sugar beats and turnips are all major crops. Manufacturing is a major provider for the economy.

24. People & Culture A Celtic Past- Settled there in 500BC Speak Gaelic & English (Irish dialect) 58% live in cities/towns (not as urbanized as UK) 1/3 live in Dublin, which is the capital Irish dance and music are still performed around the world today
