3 Who made up the first organized set of rules for football? Why did they do this? England are the first craters and organizers of the real game of football. 4 How many countries play football as their national sport? Football is a national sport in over 60 nations. to sum it regionally: South America Western Europe (all countries ranging form Norway down to Greece). Most people will argue that the majority of countries east of Germany (eastern europe) regard Ice Hockey as their national sport over football, even though football still draws a huge following in those countries. South East Asia (Countries ranging from Indonesia to the Thailand and Cambodia are not particularly strong in football, but it is watched and followed religiously in this part of the world). Middle East (countries like the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq etc all play soccer as their national sport) African Nations: Almost all African nations excluding South Africa have football as their national game. Countries where soccer is NOT the national game but often mistaken to be; Mexico (apparently baseball is top) Japan (baseball) Cuba (baseball again) India (Cricket) Pakistan (Cricket) Sri Lanka (Cricket) West Indies (Cricket) Carribean (cricket) South Africa (Rugby and Cricket) Canada (hockey) http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_countries_is_football_a_national_ga me#ixzz16k9vhRwm http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_countries_is_football_a_national_ga me#ixzz16k9vhRwm
