3 Agenda To know about the current situation of Indian education To discuss the improvements that could be done To discuss about corporate social responsibility as introduced in companies act 2013

4 Indian Education 50% of children of age 6-18 do not go to school. Of the 32 million children that began school in 2004, less than half of them has completed the compulsory 8 years of education. Eight amongst every nine children who completes schooling does not get a chance to enroll for college. India has the lowest higher education enrollment ratio of 11%. In the US it is 83%.

5 Youths of India The youth literacy rate, measured within the age group of 15 to 24, is 81.1%. Half of the countries population of 1.25 billion is under 25. Only 1 amongst 9 gets a chance to enroll for college education, still we are moving world on a click of mouse. Imagine a India where everyone gets a chance to pursue their dream, create a better world, better country and better life

7 Corporate Social Responsibility APPLICABILITY In India, the concept of CSR is governed by clause 135 of the Companies Act,2013,which was passed by both Houses of the parliament, and had received the assent of the President of India on 29 August 2013. The CSR provision within the act is applicable to companies with an annual turnover of 1000 crore INR and more,or a net worth of 500 crore INR and more, or a net profit of five crore INR and more. AMOUNT TO BE SPENT BY COMPANIES The Act encourages companies to spend at least 2 % of their average net profit in the previous three years on CSR activities.
