3 Starter – Mental A lack of __________ can result in me being distracted easily which, as a goalkeeper, can mean I lose goals for my team easily. One of my strengths is __________. This results in me always doing my very best to try and win the game, particularly if my team go behind. I want to succeed because I want my team to be successful. My __________ is a weakness because I often go into games with it being too high. This results in me making rash challenges which can mean that I get yellow carded or sent off. This could leave my team one player down for the rest of the match.

4 Starter - Emotional My ______ affects me in a negative way. I do not like performing in front of an audience on my own as I tend to be scared of making mistakes or embarrassing myself. My performance is affected positively by _______. If the opponent wins the rally I am able to keep my cool and get on with the game. If I was to get frustrated and ______ I would make more mistakes resulting in my opponent winning more points.

5 Starter - Social ________ is a strength of mine because, as the captain of the team, I am able to organise my team mates for situations such as corners and free kicks, making it more difficult for our opponents to score. I can also ________ effectively to set up offside traps with the rest of my defence. I do not like __________. I prefer working in a team because, as an individual, I struggle to motivate myself to get back into the game. I like to have team mates to encourage me through games. I also like the camaraderie of playing as part of a team.

6 Starter - Physical _______ is my strength because I am able to get from one side of the court to the other side very ______ which is an advantage on the fast break as it can give my point guard more passing options before the opponents set up their zone defence. A weakness of mine is _______. As a striker, I find it difficult to hold the ball up in attack to give my team mates time to get up the pitch. This is because I lack the ______ to hold my marker off the ball resulting in him easily dispossessing me.

Paragraph 5,6,7 – Take each of the negative aspects and explain how they affect your performance in a negative way. Paragraph 8 – Conclusion. Summarise what you have explained.

9 FIP 1.2 Example (Positive Factor) – Mental (Aspect) – Motivation As I have a high level of internal motivation, I am determined to succeed. This meant that when my team went 1-0 down in hockey, I was still motivated to keep trying and helped my team draw level. (Negative Factor) – Social (Aspect) – Cooperation I found it difficult to work with one of my team- mates as we do not get on with one another. This meant that we were unable to work together effectively which caused us to lose the game.
