4. ELV directive states a ban for balancing weights of heavy metals (more information later in the program) Some Car Manufactuers wants to introduce Tyre Brand restrictions. This is not legal inside EC. USA have now requirements for TPMS. All Cars from model year 2008 must have some form of tyre pressure control. New marking (RF) for “Self Supporting Tyres”. Tyres which can run without air pressure for 80 km at 80km/h. (ex. 205/55RF16). This will be introduced in the regulations in 2006. ISO symbol for these tyres.
