3 Introduction Each Church or Project on City Centre list is subject to SO440 SO440 “Every 5 years the Synod shall carry out a review of the mission and ministry of each church, Circuit or project designated under clause (1), in collaboration with the responsible Church Council or Circuit Meeting (in the case of a Church or Circuit) or management committee (in the case of a project).

4 Key Background Documents Our Calling. The Church exists to: Increase awareness of God’s presence and to celebrate God’s love Help people to learn and grow as Christians, through mutual support and care Become a good neighbour to people in need and to challenge injustice Make more followers of Jesus Christ

5 Key Background Documents Priorities of the Methodist Church. In partnership with others wherever possible, the Methodist Church will concentrate its prayers, resources, imagination and commitments on this priority: To proclaim and affirm its conviction of God’s love in Christ, for us and for all the world; and renew confidence in God’s presence and action in the world and in the Church As ways towards realising this priority, the Methodist Church will give particular attention to the following: Underpinning everything we do with God-centred worship and prayer Supporting community development and action for justice, especially among the most deprived and poor - in Britain and worldwide Developing confidence in evangelism and in the capacity to speak of God and faith in ways that make sense to all involved Encouraging fresh ways of being Church Nurturing a culture in the Church which is people-centred and flexible

7 Outcomes of Reviews Summary of Main findings What are the issues that need addressing to further assist the work? What examples can be shared with the wider network? What issues or areas of concern need to be shared with the network or for consideration within the Connexion?

8 Role as Aide To stand alongside small team & help facilitate the review. To ask the challenging questions. To assist the team through the guidelines. To take a broader view. To act as a representative of the MCCN. To ensure a report is compiled with outcomes & priorities.
