2 Solid Domestic Waste (SDW) …also called Municipal Solid Waste (MSW)

3 Solid Domestic Waste (SDW)
Waste is material that has no value to its producer. SDW makes up about 5% of total waste and is collected from homes and shops. Question: Where do you think the other 95% comes from? Agriculture and industry

6 Mexico According to: “the Journal of Solid Waste Technology and Management”… (2006) Per capita waste generation in Mexico varies between kg per day to 1.33 kg (lowest values in the rural areas and the highest in Mexico City and other Metropolitan areas). Mexico City and the Northern border are the areas with the highest per capita generation of MSW in Mexico. The US produces – nearly 3 kg per capita of waste per day Europe produces – 1.37 kg per capita per day
