1 Weather Impacts Briefing NWS Nashville March 1, 2013

2 Snow Impacts - Today Light snow will fall much of the day – Light accumulation on grassy surfaces possible – Temperatures will remain at or above freezing – Snow will mix with rain this afternoon away from the higher elevations – Not expecting significant travel impacts today!

3 Snow Impacts – Tonight/Sat Steadier snow likely tonight – Temperatures will fall below freezing most areas – Some snow accumulation expected Highest amounts north and east Middle TN – Elevation will affect accumulations Winter Weather Advisory in effect north and east Snow will taper off by Noon Saturday – Travel impacts will continue in the morning – Improving conditions in the afternoon

6 Chances of snowfall exceeding 2 inches

7 Summary Light snow will fall off and on today – Mixing with rain at times lower elevations – Little accumulation or impact expected Steadier snow will begin to stick after sunset – Heaviest accumulations north and east Middle TN 1 to locally 2 inches possible – Some impact to travel expected Snow ends in the morning Saturday – improving conditions by afternoon
