Salvation Let us reflect on the wonderful truth of the gospel.

WHAT IS SIN ? hamartia ἁ μαρτία to miss the mark" or "to miss the target

WHAT IS SIN ? Romans 6:20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

WHAT IS SIN ? Romans 7:17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. Romans 7:20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. Romans 7:17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. Romans 7:20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

WHERE DID SIN COME FROM ? Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man (Adam) through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—

salvation σωτηρία soteria The primary Greek noun translated salvation is soteria (found 45 times in the Greek New Testament). Soteria means, "denotes deliverance, preservation, salvation" (Vine, Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words). WHAT IS SALVATION ?

Romans 8:2-3 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.

WHAT IS SALVATION? Romans 6:14 For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

THE SOURCE OF SALVATION Romans 5:9-10 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

HOW ARE WE SAVED? Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

TRANSFORMED Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 8:2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

TRANSFORMED Romans 8:9-11 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful Nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ
