1 EDI

2 Overview EDI customers will need to change the file format they use before migration. In cases where file format does not change, files must still be modified to meet new platform specs. The impact of this change to customers depends on the file format currently used. IBC is preparing customers for EDI changes 6 months prior to migration. In order for employees to receive timely ID cards, the new EDI file must be ready by the first day of the month prior to the migration date. Summary Following platform migration, EDI customers will need to change the file format used to submit enrollment data before they migrate. In cases where file format does not change, files must still be modified to meet Highmark specifications. The impact of this change will depend largely on the EDI file format currently used by the customer. Changing file formats must be carefully planned well ahead of the platform migration date. Timeframe IBC should begin preparing customers for EDI redeployment 6 months prior to their migration date. To obtain ID cards for employees by the customer's migration effective date, the new EDI file needs to be ready by the first day of the month prior to the effective date. For information on how to prepare your customers for the EDI redeployment, refer to the EDI Customer Checklist in the Sales Playbook.
