3 Soil samples were taken from field sites located on the Harney River, in Everglades National Pak, Fl. The two sites are roughly 300 m apart

4 Mangrove soil (soil #1) Mangrove forest. Mostly red mangroves, mixed with both black and white mangroves. Used a Russian D-corer (sediment borer) to collect soil samples.

8 Sawgrass (Cladium jamaicense) marsh. Located about 300m from site of soil #1. To collect soil cores at these sites, it is a good idea to use a strong intern from Slovakia.
