5 Facts Sun bears are sometimes overwhelmed with Tigers or large Pythons. Sun bears are usually 47-60 inches long making it the smallest member in the bear family. Males are 10-45% larger than female bears. Their life span is up to 25 years. They can weigh up to 60-150 lbs. Their name comes from a mark across their chest because it looks a rising or setting sunset. Their nickname is Honey bear.
