2. Our Department Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering is shifted to Bio Block. Department is equipped with 5 Laboratories (Including project lab). Department Library (under setup). Staff Strength- 19(Including 2 Lab Staff). Student Strength- 245 (Excluding 1 & 2 Semester).

4. About our faculties 3 faculties left during last semester Ms. Honeymol P K Ms. Lakshmi C Ms. Dimple David Ms. Gincy Varghese rejoined after completing M Tech from NIT, Calicut. Ms. Jisha Jacob will be rejoining on November 15 th, 2012.

5. Staff Achievements University First Rank of CUSAT for M Tech in Opto Electronics & Communication Systems is bagged by Mr. Arunkant A Jose. Ms. Anju Babu and Ms. Jeenu Jose presented their papers in International Conferences. Ms. Gincy Varghese, Mr. Ashish Joy, Mr. Murali Krishnan and Ms. Anju Babu presented their papers in National Conferences.

6. Staff Achievements Mr. Santosh Kumar and Ms. Kavya T S published papers in Sahrdaya Journal.

7. Result Analysis University Results are as follows: 2008 Batch: 8 th Semester- 79% 2009 Batch: 5 th Semester- 83.05% 2010 Batch: 3 rd Semester- 65%

8. Placement Accenture conducted campus placement during last semester. Out of 26 students placed in Accenture, 18 are from ECE Department.

9. Project The project titled “Intelligent Wheel Chair” from ECE Department got First prize in State Level Project Competition conducted by IEEE, Kerala Section. The prize money is Rs. 24,500/- The project is guided by Mr. Vishnu Rajan and the student members are Nirmal T M and Nimi Vincent.

10. Project The same project is recognized by the Rehabilitation Center, USA for its contribution to the Humanity and this paper will be published in the December edition of their journal.

11. Project First time in the history of Sahrdaya, 3 projects from ECE Department were selected for YUVA Master Mind Project Competition. The projects are: “Smart Energy Meter” guided by Prof. K R. Joy. “Mouse and Keypad control for disabled using PIR Sensor” guided by Mr. Anoop Suraj A. “Intelligent Brain Script Communication for Deaf and Dump” guided by Mr. Vishnu Rajan.

12. Student Achievements Mr. Nirmal T M and Mr. Ashwin Varghese participated for the Circuit Design and Debugging Competition conducted by METs School of Engineering and got First Prize. Ms. Anju K L and Ms. Nimi Vincent of 7 th Semester ECE got Second place in Inter College Shuttle Badminton Competition conducted by Calicut university.

13. Association Activities Conducted 2 day workshop on VLSI Design using VHDL by NIELIT, Calicut on 22 nd and 23 rd of June, 2012. Dr. Chem Nayar of Curtin University, Australia, delivered a talk on “Renewable Energy Sources”. An interacting session was arranged on 28 th July, 2012 for ECE students with Mr. Seiko Johnson, alumni of Sahrdaya Engineering College.

14. Our Future Plans We are putting efforts to publish and present more papers in the coming semester. M Tech in Embedded Systems will be started during the next Academic Year subject to approval by University. Technical talk by experts is aimed for next semester. Department Library is being setup in the Bio Block.

15. Our Future Plans Proposed to start Gate Coaching for ECE students from January, 2013 onwards. Mr. Arunkant A Jose will coordinate the activities.
