2 Goals of the Grant Program Support research to advance education research methodologies and statistical analyses Develop a wide range of methodological and statistical tools to be used by education researchers in conducting rigorous research

5 Quarterly Contacts Program officer will be in touch with you to discuss your grant at least once every three months

9 First Time Registration on E-Grants http://e-grants.ed.gov/ http://e-grants.ed.gov/ Click on register icon Select an e-Report module and click next Provide the requested information. –Name: same as on Grant Award Notification #3 –DUNS: same as on GAN #8 Your e-Grants password will be sent to the e- mail address you provide. Login with username and password Download the E-grants user guide

10 Annual Reports Submit on e-grants under e-Administration tab Due on the date indicated on your performance agreement. –11/30/10 due date: if you started your project between March and May –3/31/11 due date: if you started your project May or later

13 Executive Summary 2 to 3 Pages Highlight the project’s goals Describe the extent to which the expected outcomes and performance objectives were achieved Describe what contributions the project has made to research, knowledge, practice and/or policy

14 Section A – Project Objectives List Project Objective using objectives laid out in Part II Progress Assessment of your Performance Agreement –1 objective per page Ignore boxes “Performance Measure” Fill in Explanation of Progress section for each object

15 Section A – Project Objectives Describe status of all steps taken toward completion of your objectives. Include details of what was done and how it was done. Describe what was completed. Describe any findings to date.

16 Section A – Project Objectives Describe any work planned, but not undertaken (or completed). Attach any relevant reports completed during the year, as well as related presentations and/or publications.

17 Section B – Budget Information Table to show expenditures by category: planned and actual by year Provide an explanation if you did not expend funds at expected rate during the reporting period. Describe how you will spend the carry-over funds during the next budget period. Describe any significant changes to your budget resulting from modification of project activities. Describe any changes to your budget that affected your ability to achieve your objectives.

18 Section C – Additional Information Any changes you plan to make for next year that are consistent with scope and objectives. Anticipated changes to key personnel. Attach curriculum vitae for proposed personnel. Describe any unanticipated outcomes or benefits from your project. Attach updated IRB and/or indirect costs information here. Attach papers: please cite IES and Grant #

19 Final Reports Due 90 days after the end of your grant award Just like the annual report but instead of summarizing yearly progress, summarizie the work of the entire project Must answer the final questions (1, 2, 3)

20 Final Report Question 1 Based on your results, draw conclusions about the success of the project and its impact. Describe any unanticipated outcomes or benefits from your project and any barriers you may have encountered.

21 Final Report Question 2 What would you recommend as advice to other educators that are interested in your project? How did your original ideas change as a result of conducting this project?

22 Final Report Question 3 If applicable, describe your plans for continuing the project (sustainability; capacity building) and/or disseminating the project results.
