1 František Soukup He was born on 7 th, February 1879 and he died on 15 th, March 1957. He studied Art at Prague University, Later drawings as well. He visited and studied in Berlin, Paris and Munich. He invented a new drawing technique called Tenell. He had a lot of exhibitions. His tomb is in the town cemetery. He lived in a small family house with an atelier in the first floor we have chosen a drawing of the view from the window in his atelier.

2 We chose a drawing from the beginning of the last century. It was made from his atelier. We can see a tower of church St. Jan Křtitel. In front of it, there are buildings, which are still there, but trees are not so tall, so view is open. We can guess that there is empty place without buildings.

3 The new photo was taken from the window in the room. We had to ask for permission of the owner´s house. So we entered the house, where F. Soukup made his drawings.

4 Differences In the first picture we can see the roofs of the church, a few buildings and the open area with trees. The second one shows only the view of the trees, which have grown up and hide the church. When we look carefully we can see the tower of the church. And the roofs of the buildings? There are more buildings now, there is no empty place. The centre of the town is fully built up. We can say that historic buildings stay the same for a long time but centers of towns always change in the course of time.
