The situation looked gloomy and I wished I had stayed home in my bedroom. The closest student to ask now was Laura. I tried to be a tower of strength as I approached Laura, the prettiest girl in our class; but I became tongue-tied and instead of asking for a calculator I asked her for an incubator. Quickly, I watched as my self-respect vanished into thin air. Certainly, the guy next to me has always been a bit of a green-eyed monster when it came to me and Laura; and to give the devil his due, I always enjoyed pushing him to such a state.
