Italy Travel Itinerary to Venice By: Rachel Surgent Pd:8 Global Networking. Venice Italy Travel Itinerary Rachel Surgent Pd:8

Airfare and Travel My trip will begin at 8:31 AM EST (Eastern Standard Time) at the Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and I will fly to Chicago, to get my connecting flight to Dublin, Ireland. Then I will fly from Dublin to Venice International Airport (VCE) My flight will be on the Irish airline company Aer Lingus. I will arrive in Italy at 11:05 AM CET (Central European Time) The total travel time is 20 hours and 34 minutes. The total cost is $881.17 +tax.

Immunizations Required immunizations include routine vaccinations (Measles, Mumps, Tetanus, Polio, etc.) A recommended vaccination is Rabies and Hepatitis B

Passports A passport book will cost about $135.00 Passports A passport book used for travelling will cost $110.00 I will need to fill out a passport approval application before receiving a booklet.

Exchange Rates and Grants The exchange rate from the American dollar to the European Euro is $1=€0.78 I have been granted with $2,000 or €1,557.03

Room and Board The studio apartment is located on the Giudecca island which is a heavenly retreat with a special atmosphere all its own. Inhabited almost entirely by locals and situated apart from the hordes of tourists (with very few hotels except for the legendary Cipriani and the new Molina Stucky Hilton), the Giudecca is Venice’s best-kept secret. The Giudecca offers the best views in Venice: from the northern waterfront, where you can dine on delicious food at the Do Mori, Harry’s Dolce or Cip’s, you can see over to the Dorsoduro, the island of San Giorgio and many other features. The total cost to stay for 1 month is about $825.00 a month. I chose this area because there are many amenities such as shopping and popular restaurants. These places are a very close trip by boat. The area also provides stunning views.

Travelling around the City A popular way to get around when in Venice is either by owning a boat and rowing yourself around, or by riding a water taxi. Water Taxi’s do come at a somewhat steep price. The admission cost is €13 with an additional €1.80 for each minute. I would ride for approximately 15 minutes on average. If I travel both ways, using the taxi 18 times in 1 month will cost approximately €750.41 or $963.90. This is one of the cheapest prices available.

Entertainment/Dining Where to dine????? Al Muro: A little restaurant tucked into the Rialto Fish Market. With cheap food between 7 to 10 euros, it is a perfect, easy going place Bacaro Lounge: Hidden in deep in the tourist section of Venice, this super cheap, super trendy place provides spaghetti, pomodoro and even pork for only ten euros. Food&Art: On the island of Giudecca, this crazy restaurant provides delicious Italian for under 5.50 euros. It provides some of the best views of Venice Al Nono Ristorto: This place is known for making some of the best pizza, having whole pizzas for 15 euros.

Entertainment/Dining cont. What to do to keep busy???? Teatro Fondamenta Nouve: A theatre that holds many events (i.e. ballets, musicals, and concerts) Aqualandia: A family water park themed similar to Atlantis and other waterparks in the Carribean and Bahamas. With Latin dancers, beaches and amenities for all ages! The many beaches of Venice: When you are in the Mediterranean on an island, its obvious that you want to stop at the beach to catch some rays for free entertainment and relaxation!!!
