3 Term 2 In this term we learnt about the industrial revolution and gold rush. The industrial revolution meant the invention of the seed drill. This meant more food, which then meant more people, which meant more crimes. Then, all of England's jails were full. So they decided to send them to Australia, along with free settlers. The free settlers set out, looking for farmland. More farmland again, meant more food, as well as discoveries. One of these discoveries was gold. Who came: Convicts and free settlers Why: the industrial revolution made the population boom in England. What did they bring?: disease, ability to work and the need to explore. 7 Different History Karlinchen is a little girl who had to run away because her country was on fire. She came to a village, but they called the police to take her to the children's home, but she was too quick. She came to the stone biters. They didn’t want her because she couldn’t eat stones. Then she came to the waxwing people. They didn’t want her because she didn’t have a tail. Then she came to the Smokey crows. She had to leave them because she couldn’t eat dead mice. The same happened with rich and poor people. Carly had nowhere to go. Then, she saw someone who sat in a cheese. He offered her a cheese sandwich. This is where Carly found her refuge.
