2 Check hardware Make sure physical “mute” button isn’t turned on. (Some mic/headphones have that option)

3 Check hardware Make sure headphones plugged into correct plug-in, if stereo plug-ins.

4 Check Computer Volume Check volume on computer Make sure not on “mute” Volume turned up

5 Check Audio controls Written Instructions – or click here to see videohere Start – Control Panel If Classic View – double-click Sounds and Audio Devices If Category View – click Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices – double-click Sounds and Audio Devices Click “Audio” tab at Top Under Sound recording – make sure default device is your microphone (click to see picture)(click to see picture) Under Sound recording – click Volume Turn up volume (if necessary) and make sure “Mute” box is not selected (click to see picture)click to see picture

6 Still not working? Possibilities Microphone is broken, try another Audio and sound device in computer isn’t working properly It’s not your day – try again tomorrow
