2 Vocabulary Journal  Over the course of the year you will collect words in your vocabulary journal. This should be kept in your binder and will be checked from time to time.  Feel free to adapt the language and use your own words!  Include a working usage sentence of the term.  “I am using rhetoric in a sentence”  By learning to use rhetoric I can be a more effective speaker.”  We will also post the words for your vocabulary journal on our word wall.

4 Facts  In law facts are used to construct arguments.  Facts are like blocks you use to build something  Each side has a set of facts. Whoever uses their blocks the best wins the argument (the case)  We must always try to argue using facts  Some examples..

5 Vocabulary Journal #1  Jurisprudence – The study of law and legal reasoning  Legal brief – A short summary of a legal case with relevant (important) facts, legal issues, arguments, and the decision of the court

6 Analyzing A Case  Take a look at the legal brief format  This can also be shortened  Try it now..
