3 Task 1 – Hong Kong Quiz! In groups of 3 you have 30 minutes to locate the answers to all of your questions. Use the maps to locate where the answers are. Some locations have QR codes – one person in your groups will need a QR Code reader on your phones! You will be deducted 5 points for being late! Remember to be respectful and quiet in school!

19 Task 3 – What should a good map have? A basic map should have: Title – Tells you what the map is showing Key – Guide for what the map symbols mean Scale – Shows how large the map area is in real life North Point – Shows which way is North Co-ordinates – Helps you to locate points on a map

21 Task 4 – Symbols on a Map 1.Look at the following map symbols -> 2.Add symbols onto your tables for each of the 10 places in Hong Kong. You can use the example symbols here or create your own!

23 Task 5 – Using Co-ordinates To locate features on a map we use the map ‘co-ordinates’. To find a place, first look at the horizontal letters. Then look at the vertical numbers. ‘Go along the hallway and then up the stairs!’

30 Task 8 – Describing Aspects of HK What positive descriptive words can we use to describe the nice places in HK? Where are they? What words can we use to describe the negative/not so nice places in HK? Where are they?

31 Task 8 – Describing Aspects of HK Now write a description of the location of the best and worst places in Hong Kong in no more than 100 words!
