7 Resume A written summary of your education, work, experience, credentials, and accomplishments and is used to apply for scholarships and jobs.

8 TYPES OF INTERVIEWS…

9 Panel An interview conducted by more than one individual. The number of panelists vary. Phone Used to screen candidates in order to narrow the pool of applicants who will be invited for in-person interviews

11 Personal Statements… A picture. Provide a snapshot of who you are as a person. An invitation. Invite your reader to get to know you An indication of your priorities and values. Your story. The personal statement allows you room for creative meaningful self- reflection.

13 Letters of Recommendation Carefully choose recommenders Give them enough time Always provide description of scholarship and resume Follow up if needed Always thank them

15 it’s a numbers game. The more you apply to the better your odds are at being awarded

16 Read the Requirements While the Scholarships may look similar, each may require something different. Scholarship sponsors will not consider your application if you don’t satisfy the prerequisites

19  Write the name of each scholarship  Set reminders (2 Weeks Ahead At Least)

20  Organize by deadline date and amount of scholarship Keep a calendar of deadlines
