4 God’s Will for His People (Part VI) The Ninth and Tenth Commandments summarized: Do not covet.

5 1 Timothy 6:6-10 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

28 Our Goal as Christians OS The “Non-spiritual” or “Natural” Person OS = Our “Old Self”, or sinful nature NS OS NS OS The Less Mature or “Worldly” Christian The “Spiritual” or More Mature Christian NS = Our “New Self”, that loves to serve God Sinful lifestyle, dominated by the Old Self, a life of discord and frustration. Godly lifestyle, dominated by the New Self, a life of peace and joy. Personal Faith and Justification Sanctification and Spiritual Growth “You were taught … to put off your old self … and to put on the new self.” (Ephesians 4:22- 24) (see also 1 Corinthians 3:1-2 and Hebrews 5:11-6:2)
