2. Mission: Wolf Colorado Trip Class: 8th grade Dates: Monday, June 3rd, 2013 through Thursday, June 6th, 2013

3. What? Travel to Mission: Wolf in Westcliffe, Colorado to learn more about the wolves in their natural habitat.

4. Why? Experience wolves in their natural habitat Understand needs and pressures Experience traveling for future endeavors Provides students with an experiential education opportunity To see importance of wolves

5. Specific Activities Learn about the animals' habitats and their daily patterns Experience close encounters with the wolves Explore o Hikes in the area Camping Learn about diverse ecosystems and the impacts we have on them

6. Experience University of Connecticut-Grade 6 o Overnight Trip Introduced us to marine biology Applying skills to learn about wolves' behavior and natural habitats

7. How (Before) Students- application, acceptance, commit to fundraising Parents- receive website information, attend informational meetings, and sign permission slips releasing children

8. How (After) Create presentation for school committee Create links on school website to presentation

9. Where to Stay? Campground on the site of Mission:Wolf Need five sites, four per site $100/group, regardless of participants Bring our own food, supplies, tents, etc.

10. Supplies Students Need Clothes for four days (bring extra outfits/other needs just in case of rain) Pillow(s), hygiene needs (shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, etc.) Sleeping bag/ blankets Camping needs Pajamas

11. Maximum Vs. Minimum If there are not enough students, the trip must be canceled. Minimum number of students would be 5 students. The maximum number of students would be 20 students. (Number of chaperones will be based on the number of students, also paid through students)
