1 MLA CITATIONS How to correctly cite sources in your Work Cited and Bibliography!

2 GENERAL ADVICE…  Cite early! (That is why your bib card is first!)  When a section of the work is not available (like an author) omit and move to the next requirement  URLs, when included, are contained in triangle brackets and the period goes outside  Ex..  Do not have blue hyperlinks!  MLA7 does not require the URL in a formal MLA citation, but for this class, I would like you to include it

4 BOOK WITH ONE AUTHOR  Author’s Last Name, First Name. Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher, Date. Print.  Example on Sheet:  Taken from Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser, page 51, published in New York by Perennial in 2002.  Schlosser, Eric. Fast Food Nation. New York: Perennial, 2002. Print.

5 A CHAPTER FROM A BOOK WITH TWO OR MORE AUTHORS  Authors should be listed in alphabetical order by last name!  Author Last Name, Author First Name, and Author First Name, Author Last Name. Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher, Date. Print.  Example from packet  Dollahite, Nancy E., and Julie Haun. SourceWork. Boston: Thomson Heinle, 2006. Print.

9 ARTICLE FROM A NEWSPAPER  Cite a newspaper article as you would a magazine article, but note the different pagination (page identification) in a newspaper.
