Please bring those by the office by November 18th. We ask that you look for cards with a Christmas theme and a verse of scripture if possible. Those do not have to be stamped. Did you know that we changed the way we do Christmas toys last year? We take the applications and screen the families. Then your church or a Sunday School class can adopt a family and we will give you their wish list, ages and sizes. You will box and wrap the gifts and bring them to the office for the families to pick up in mid- December. If you are interested in adopting a family, please call Brenda Gail. MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT : Wow! I did not know we did that ! Thoughts from the Ministry Center: When I was a GA at New Armuchee (way back in the olden days) we spent the month of August gathering items for “Christmas in August.” I remember the joy we received from helping our missionaries across the country. Packing the boxes and praying for the missionaries was one of the highlights of the year. Today I see “Christmas in August” from a different perspective. Our ministry center was chosen as one of the mission centers to benefit from “Christmas in August.” As of today, we have received boxes from approximately 15 churches across the country! I cannot begin to tell you how much each of these boxes means to me. These boxes are filled with items for the prison ministry and for the dental van. We have received so many items that we will be able to put together hygiene bags for our clients. As Sandra and I opened each box we were made aware of the prayers that went along with the items. In many of the boxes we received cards from children who lovingly filled the boxes with prayers. My heart is over flowing with gratitude! “O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.” Psalm 95:1-2 Brenda Gail LOVE LOUD – FLOYD COUNTY An opportunity to minister to people in our community -- Our churches working together September 25, 2010 INTERNATIONAL ORALITY NETWORK Meeting Tuesday, September 21, 2010 7:00 PM FCBA Offices “Making God's Word available to oral learners in culturally appropriate ways that enable church planting movements everywhere”.
