E.COLI By:Kirby.E.Glenn and Aaron.T.Black

What Escherichia coli, also known as E. coli is a bacterium that is commonly found in the gut of endotherms (warm blooded organisms). Several types of E. coli exist as part of the normal flora of the human gut and have several beneficial functions, such as the production of vitamin K2. They also prevent harmful bacteria, known as pathogenic bacteria, from establishing themselves in the intestine.

symptoms Stomach cramps Diarrhea (usually bloody) Vomiting Low-grade fever (typically not over 101) These symptoms usually resolve on their own within 5 to 7 days. E. coli infections are mild in most people, but they can be serious or even life threatening in others. Symptoms of an E. coli infection typically start 3 to 5 days after exposure to the bacteria, but they can occur as early as one day or as late as 10 days after exposure.

How to get E.Coli E. coli is a common type of bacteria that can get into food, like beef and vegetables. E. coli is short for the medical term Escherichia coli. The strange thing about these bacteria — and lots of other bacteria — is that they're not always harmful to you

How to prevent E.Coli Eat cooked meat. Wash your hands after handling raw meat. Use a different plate to bring cooked food in from the grill. Drink pasteurized beverages only. Keep pool and lake water out of your mouth.

Untreated E.Coli Bladder infections are caused by the E coli bacteria, and once this bacteria infects the urinary tract it isn't going to stop the infection all of sudden without being removed by you first. All it will do is infect you more, and it will gradually cure your UTI as soon as possible, and not even think about leaving it untreated.

Where E.Coli comes from Most illness has been associated with eating undercooked, contaminated ground beef. Person-to- person contact in families and child care centers is also an important mode of transmission. Infection can also occur after drinking raw milk and after swimming in or drinking sewage-contaminated water.

What we need to do for the next fair We need to take out the petting zoo The people that cooked the hamburgers need to cook the food longer

How many people die of E.Coli each year? 60
