WE ARE MEMBERS OF KIWANIS IN ORDER……..

2 Wayne Weaver- Jaguars Owner On July 28, 29, and 30th our club worked with the Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry in distributing clothes and school supplies to over 1,000 school children. On the 28th, after our meeting, Beryl, Sevena, Al, John, and Erica met at the United Methodist Church and sorted school supplies. On Friday the 29th Ed Z and Corky helped sort thousands of pieces of clothes into sizes for the kids. And then on Saturday, Bill, Pres. Carl, Max, Charlie and Wanda, Butch and Bev, and Corky arrived at 7:15 am to greet the parents and kids (some who had been in line since 4 am) and distributed the clothes. Each child got a least 10 items of clothing, a new pair of shoes, a school back pack loaded with supplies and a personalized pencil box. The experience was as much a blessing to the Kiwanians participating as to the kids receiving the clothing. It was a great effort by BEAM and they were most appreciative of our club’s support. It is estimated we contributed about 60 hours of service time. A BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED. ---Corky Borders Happy Birthday! None Happy Anniversary!
