Many of these are affected by social inequality. What is meant by a disease of poverty? Diseases of poverty tend to be transmitted through close human contact due to the living conditions of people in areas like shanty towns, or vectors, such as insects. They are not completely confined to people living in poverty, but are more likely to be experienced by them
