Public Training Centre - TURKEY 4 ABOUT HENDEK PUBLIC TRAINING CENTRE We have been dealing with non-formal education, one of the two main components of the education system, including training, education, guidance and application activities organized in and out of formal education for individuals who have never entered the formal education system, or individuals who are at a certain level of the formal education, or who have left these levels for lifelong education. A great majority of the educational activities organized outside of formal education institutions are carried out by our public training centre. Vocational courses, social and cultural courses and literacy courses are offered at our centre for individuals at any age and educational level. Activities for the expansion and development of the public education at our centre are flourising.

6. Public Training Centre - TURKEY 5 SCOPE OF PTC Parallel with the rapid change in society, the idea that the main form of education is school education has changed. In line with this concept, our Public Training Centre is focused on reforming the goals, programs and structures of the school system, giving emphasis to activities towards developing, extending and restructuring the non-school education and learning system in the context of lifelong education, and shifting the focus of education from formal education to continuous education. The starting point of our centre is based on the needs and demands of public. Therefore our courses: are designed for the need. are not restricted with time and age. are not restricted with the place. include the programs which are variable about time and content. involve all members of the society are based on volunteer individuals

Public Training Centre - TURKEY 6 ABOUT OUR COURSES Some courses at our centre can be listed as Vocational Courses: Computer, clothing, embroidery, patch-work, handicrafts wood painting, handicrafts cloth painting, handicrafts glass decorating, carpet weaving, beekeeping, central - heating and other demanded courses... Social & Cultural Courses: English (all levels), literacy, folk dances, folk instruments, guitar, flute, taekwondo, karate, wrestling, tennis, gym and other demanded courses...
