2 Diagnostic Assessments - Administration Kindergarten No Required Administration No Reporting Requirement Grades 1 and 2 All students required; District AYP status will determine use - state diagnostic or district choice No Reporting Requirement

3 Diagnostic Assessments - Administration continued Grades 3-8 Buildings in School Improvement must administer diagnostic tests –Only Grade 3 Writing Diagnostic Assessment currently developed –No Reporting Requirement Transfer Students Within 30 days of student transfer into district or school –Begins end of October count week –No reporting requirements

4 Kindergarten Readiness Assessment Amended Substitute House Bill 3 Office of Early Childhood - Lead Kindergarten Readiness Assessment –end of pre-K standards –Currently only Literacy assessed –Kindergarten readiness assessment field test in fall 2003 –Reporting Requirement begins SY04-05

5 Performance Levels Achievement Tests House Bill 3 requires five performance levels: advanced accelerated proficient basic Limited Proficiency Tests - Unchanged

6 Fall Administrations Grade 3 Achievement (reading only): – Oct. 6 -10, 2003 Grade 4 Proficiency (reading only): –Oct. 6 -10, 2003 Ninth Grade Proficiency (grades 10 and above) : –October 27 – November 9, 2003 Results: –Grade 3 – December 5, 2003 –Grade 4 – November 21, 2003 –Grade 9 – December 4, 2003 / January 8, 2004

7 Spring Administrations Grade 3 Achievement (reading only): – March 8 – 12, 2004 Grades 4/6 Proficiency: –March 8 – 26, 2004 Ninth Grade Proficiency (grades 10 and above) : –March 1 – March 14, 2004 –May 1 – 10, 2004 (seniors only) Ohio Graduation Tests (Reading/Mathematics only): –March 15 – 19, 2004 Results: –Grade 3 – May 11, 2004 –Grades 4/6 – May 25, 2004 –Grade 9 – April 18, 2004 / May 13, 2004 /May 24, 2004 –OGT – to be determined
