7 GRADUATING CLASS OF 2018 REQUIREMENTS 21 CREDITS (SAME AS NOW) AND 18 POINTS ON NEW ASSESSMENTS (PATHWAY 1) OR “REMEDIATION-FREE” SCORE ON COLLEGE ADMISSION EXAM (PATHWAY 2) OR EARN INDUSTRY CREDENTIAL AND APPROVED SCORE ON A JOB SKILLS ASSESSMENT (PATHWAY 3)

9 PATHWAY POINTS ON NEW ASSESSMENTS STUDENTS WILL TAKE A TOTAL OF 7 EXAMS THROUGHOUT THEIR HIGH SCHOOL CAREER - ELA I ELA II ALGEBRA I GEOMETRY PHYSICAL SCIENCE (INTEGRATED SCIENCE I) AMERICAN HISTORY AMERICAN GOVERNMENT Exams required

10 PATHWAY POINTS ON NEW ASSESSMENTS STUDENTS WILL EARN POINTS BASED ON THEIR SCORES ON THE REQUIRED EXAMS FOR EXAMPLE: OAA SCORES ADVANCED = 5 POINTS ACCELERATED = 4 POINTS PROFICIENT = 3 POINTS BASIC = 2 POINTS LIMITED = 1 POINTS Pathway 1

11 PATHWAY POINTS ON NEW ASSESSMENTS STUDENTS WILL TAKE THE TEST THE YEAR THAT THEY ARE ENROLLED IN THE CLASS. ALL EXAMS HAVE 2 PARTS --- PERFORMANCE BASED ASSESSMENT AND END OF THE YEAR ASSESSMENT--- BOTH PARTS ARE USED FOR FINAL SCORE

14 PATHWAY POINTS ON NEW ASSESSMENTS IF A STUDENT RECEIVES A LIMITED OR BASIC SCORE MAY RETAKE AFTER RECEIVING EXTRA HELP ON THE MATERIAL IF A STUDENT RECEIVES A PROFICIENT OR ACCELERATED SCORE MAY RETAKE ONLY IF HE/SHE HAS ALREADY TAKEN ALL 7 EXAMS AND HAS NOT ACHIEVED THE MINIMUM POINTS TO GRADUATE (18)

15 PATHWAY POINTS ON NEW ASSESSMENTS STUDENTS WHO TOOK ALGEBRA I IN THE 8 TH GRADE WILL AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE 3 POINTS FOR THAT TEST THEY WILL NOT HAVE TO TAKE THE ALGEBRA I TEST

16 PATHWAY 2 - REMEDIATION-FREE SCORE ON NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED COLLEGE ADMISSION EXAM THE TEST HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED BUT RUMOR IS THAT IT WILL BE THE A.C.T. THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION WILL PAY FOR THE TEST ALL JUNIORS WILL TAKE IT ONE TIME PAID FOR BY THE STATE 1 ST TIME THAT IT WILL BE GIVEN WILL BE FALL OF SCHOOL YEAR REMEDIATION-FREE SCORE IS YET TO BE DETERMINED Pathway 2

17 PATHWAY 3 - EARN INDUSTRY CREDENTIAL EARN A STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVED, INDUSTRY-RECOGNIZED CREDENTIAL OR A STATE-ISSUED LICENSE FOR PRACTICE IN A CAREER AND ACHIEVE A SCORE THAT DEMONSTRATES WORKFORCE READINESS AND EMPLOYABILITY ON A JOB SKILLS ASSESSMENT ASSESSMENT HAS NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED BUT MAY BE WORKKEYS Pathway 3

SENATE BILL 165 REQUIRES THAT - ALL STUDENTS ENROLLED IN AMERICAN HISTORY WILL TAKE AMERICAN HISTORY TEST THIS YEAR ALL STUDENTS ENROLLED IN AMERICAN GOVERNMENT WILL TAKE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT TEST THIS YEAR THESE TESTS WILL NOT COUNT FOR GRADUATION FOR THESE STUDENTS
