2 What is BYOD? Simply, Bring Your Own Device Students will bring and use their devices in classroom activities. What devices? Cell phones, tablets, laptops…

3 What are the expectations? Students will use the devices they have to access the internet as guest users in the school protected network*. *Students will only be allowed to access school network. Students and parents will sign the school Acceptable User Policy (AUP). Students will be taught digital citizenship skills.

4 What is digital citizenship? Digital Citizenship is a concept that equip technology users with knowledge and skills that enable them to use technology appropriately. Digital Citizenship is: a way to prepare students/technology users for a society full of technology. The issue: Appropriate technology usage.

6 1. Digital Access: full electronic participation in society. 2. Digital Commerce: electronic buying and selling of goods. 3. Digital Communication: electronic exchange of information. 4. Digital Literacy: process of teaching and learning about technology and the use of technology. 5. Digital Etiquette: electronic standards of conduct or procedure.

Digital Rights & Responsibilities: those freedoms extended to everyone in a digital world. 8. Digital Health & Wellness: physical and psychological well-being in a digital technology world. 9.
