2 The Genetics of Hemophilia and Symptoms: Only the X chromosome carries the genes related to clotting factors. A male who has the abnormal gene on his X chromosome will have it. A female must have the abnormal gene on both of her X chromosomes to have it, which is very rare. Symptoms are excessive bleeding, bleeding in the joints, and in the brain. Those who have severe hemophilia may bleed spontaneously. Only the X chromosome carries the genes related to clotting factors. A male who has the abnormal gene on his X chromosome will have it. 6 Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD)-Genetics of Disease and Symptoms: This disorder is an X-linked genetic trait. Loss weight, hearing loss, hyper activity, and swallowing difficulties.
