Health Programming: PHAMESA The Partnership on Health and Mobility in East and Southern Africa (PHAMESA) aims to improve the management of migration health and reduce migrants’ vulnerability to ill health by responding to their health needs throughout all phases of the migration process. Participates in the ONEUN HIV Prevention Working Group 3

High level dialogue on regional integration and the increase in population traffic on transport corridors and border posts. Presented health assessment at three OSBPs in Tanzania. Highlighting the need for coordinated efforts to address health vulnerabilities at OSBPs. Called for regional coordination and strategies for HIV prevention on national transport corridors.

Integration of Health in Capacity Building Activities African Capacity Building Centre (ACBC) IOM’s designated resource to assist African governments in building their capacities in migration management, the ACBC works closely with IOM country missions to deliver: assessments, training programmes, technical assistance, research, project review and development. 8
