GREET AND WELCOME ONE ANOTHER Penge Baptist Church 5 th June 2011

Greet one another  Rom 16:16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings  Matt 5:47 And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

Welcome one another  James 2:2-4 “Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?”

 Luke 7:44-47 “Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”

Offer hospitality to one another  Ro 12:13 Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality  1Pe 4:9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  Heb 13:2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

Be sheep and not goats!  Mt 25:34-40 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’
