Peoples’ Opinions on War  A majority of people were indifferent about fighting in a war against Britain.  Many people sold goods to Britain because they could pay in gold; speculators forced prices sky-high  A minority of people actually participated in fighting in the revolution and risked their lives to ensure the freedom and independence for everyone
