3 Lesson 3: How are work and Motion related? When you push or pull something and it moves you have done work.

6 Types of Simple Machines Inclined Plane A flat surface with one side higher than the other. (a ramp)

8 Types of Simple Machines Wedge A simple machine with slanted sides.

9 Types of Simple Machines Lever A stiff bar that rests on a support called a fulcrum which lifts or moves loads. (the longer your lever the easier the lift)

10 Types of Simple Machines Screw An incline plane wrapped around a rod.

11 Types of Simple Machines Pulley A simple machine that uses a rope and a wheel to move an object. (The more pulleys, the longer the rope, the easier it is to pull)
