2 « Club des Villes et Territoires Cyclables » In 1989 : 10 cities gathered to found the Club 2009 : a network of 1000 members including 3 Regional districts and 3 counties

3 Since its creation : it developed an active collaboration with the CERTU, a government center of research for roads and national development Nowadays : A reknown technical know-how largely spread through medias A major think tank for knowhow and experience sharing Organisation of events in partnership such as meetings, congresses Publications A valid representative with governement and local authorities, transportation professionals and Medias

10 Historical review of Bike Share Programs In France 1974: City of La Rochelle –Implementation of the « yellow bikes » program 1998: City of Rennes –Clear Channel « à la carte » bike program 2005: City of Lyon - Vélo’v program –4000 units & 340 stations 2007: City of Paris - Vélib’ program –20,600 units & 1,451 stations 2010: City of Bordeaux - VCUB’ program –1,545 units & 129 stations 2010: 30 cities have implemented Bike Share Programs
