* In Somalia there are lots of causes that cause child labour in this country like; Poverty, poor households, they don’t make enough money to feed one family, All the children are critical to there survival, and they spend almost all there income on food.

* Rock Breaking For Gravel. * Producing and trafficking drugs. * Body Guards. * Child Soldiers. * Construction. * Sex Slaves. * They Work In Quarries. * Debt Bondage. * Domestic Service. * And Serfdom.

* Hours: The Children Work 12-16 hours a day. * Days Per week: They work 7 days a week. * Wages: They make about $7.50 per day, that’s only 0.47 – 0.63 cents per hour. * There are 10.2 million people in Somalia and people that are under 16, 44-45% are in child labour. * Many of these children take abuse from there employers if they aren't working fast enough or properly. * There environment is absolutely terrible it is ranked the worst environment for work on the planet, there are huge tins of toxic chemicals from ships sitting on the beach not being dealt with by anyone. When the kids are working the chemicals get in to there skin and disfigure parts of there body from where the chemical got in. there are wars, pirates, gangs, and many other terrible things going on in the streets of Somalia.

This Story is a true story of a person doing child labour. This story is from the “ International Labour Office “.

* Child labour back then was looked at as necessary, efficient, and okay. They would work in very dangerous conditions like factory chemicals, textile industries, and horrid mines. The children would work minimum 16 hours a day and at most 18 hours, they would get up like 6 hours later and start working again. Also they would get beat often and it was very common to see abuse.

* Now child labour is looked at as abusive, brutal, disgusting, and bad. People are protesting and having charities to stop this child abuse. They now only work 12 hours and at most work 16 hours a day. They get paid a lot more then it was back then. Children being abused is definitely not as common as it was back then.
