3 WHAT ARE OUR KIDS SAYING? Iowa Youth Survey is conducted every two years in grades 6, 8, and 10. Most recently given in 2012-13. Data Gathered on Seven Constructs: Secure and Supportive Family School Expectations and Boundaries Safe and Supportive Community Healthy Youth Socially Competent Youth Youth Successful in School Bullying

4 WHAT ARE OUR KIDS SAYING? IOWA YOUTH SURVEY

5 QUESTIONS How much do you agree or disagree that each of the following statements is true? In my school there are clear rules about what students can and cannot do In my school the school principal and teachers consistently enforce school rules In my school if I skipped school at least one of my parents/guardians would be notified In my school students caught drinking, smoking, or using an illegal drug are not allowed to participate in any extracurricular activity for some time period My school lets a parent/guardian know if I’ve done something wrong.
