3 Ambassadors Program What is an Ambassador? Knowledgeable UWCNM advocates in our community Provide feedback from the community Serve as both official (i.e. represent UWCNM at events) and unofficial (i.e. share the UWCNM story with friends and family) representatives Engage through Social Media

4 Ambassadors Program Vision: Supportive communities where people live healthy and productive lives. Our mission is to bring people and resources together to measurably improve lives and strengthen our communities.

6 Ambassadors Program Cornerstone Partners: Mostly companies and some individual donors who support all UWCNM does through all or part of their gifts. Community Fund: Primarily the annual grant process, but also UWCNM-led programs that help those most vulnerable in our community. Quick Definitions Affinity Groups: Donors giving at a leadership level ($500+ annually) who join together to learn about the community and support certain issues.

Community Fund By supporting the Community Fund, you are creating a stronger community through ALL the building blocks for a better life – Education, Health, and Self-Sufficiency.

12 Ambassadors Program Affinity Groups Affinity Groups are the primary way that we engage with our donors beyond workplace campaigns. The purpose of the Groups is to connect donors with each other, with issues that matter, with their community and with United Way. 13 Ambassadors Program Rural County Committees UWCNM represents the counties of Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia: http://www.uwcnm.org/our-work/rural-countieshttp://www.uwcnm.org/our-work/rural-counties Rural County Committees serve three primary purposes: 1.Support new or help improve workplace campaigns or individual donor giving. 2.Provide information vital to the work of the UWCNM, its programs and initiatives like 211 and Mission: Graduate. 3.Help UWCNM work with area agencies to identify key needs of residents and gaps in services.

22 The Community Fund exists to help the most vulnerable and to ensure that all people have the opportunity to achieve potential through education, are healthy and safe, are financially stable, and live life with dignity.

23 Education We want to live in a community where… All children… Are born healthy and develop on track. Are fully prepared to enter the educational system. And where all students… Progress successfully through elementary school. Progress successfully through middle school. Graduate high school within 5 years, ready for school, life or work. And where all individuals… Have opportunity to utilize some form of post-secondary education, from trade schools to 4-year universities.

24 Health We want to live in a community where: All individuals and families… Receive affordable and equitable health services. Live in a safe environment. Exhibit healthy behaviors. Live in a health promoting environment.

25 Self-Sufficiency We want to live in a community where: All individuals and families… Have adequate and sustainable resources to support their needs. Have the skills, knowledge, and relationships they need to effectively increase and manage their income. And where vulnerable populations… Are safe, socially engaged, and live with dignity.
