1 1930 HISTORICAL FICTION NOVEL POSTER EXPECTATIONS

2 VISUALIZE THE POSTER LIKE THIS: Put the book’s title and author across the top. Put your name on the right. Write the letter or journal entry on one side: Dear Ms. Hunt, I really loved the novel you wrote called “No Promises in the Wind.” I thought the characters were especially well done for several reasons. First, Josh seemed so real!!! Put imagery/symbols in one section: Copy your five favorite passages from the novel in correct MLA format in one section: ”Be sure to use MLA format like this” (Last 33).

3 PUBLISHING: SHARING WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED  REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A FINAL PROJECT.  ALL WORK SHOULD REPRESENT YOUR BEST EFFORT.  TYPING OR NEATLY USING PEN IN YOUR BEST HANDWRITING IS RECOMMENDED.  PICTURES SHOULD BE ART QUALITY.  YOU CAN DO EVERYTHING DIRECTLY ON THE POSTER PAPER. YOU MAY ALSO GLUE THINGS TO THE POSTER AS LONG AS IT IS DONE NEATLY.  PUBLISHING SHOUD SHOW OUR PRIDE IN WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED AND ACCOMPLISHED.

4 TUESDAY, 10 FEBRUARY 2015 (TITLE AND BORDER SECTIONS) Put the book’s title and author across the top. Put your name on the right. Sketch this chart on your paper using all of the white space. Optional: The outside of the chart can be a border that fits the content of your novel. For example: Bud, Not Buddy might have a suitcase drawn out for the border.

5 WEDNESDAY, 11 FEBRUARY 2015 (WRITTEN RESPONSE SECTION) Put the book’s title and author across the top. Put your name on the right. Show your best writing. Choose #1 or #2 below. 1)Write a letter to the author explaining what he/she did well when writing the book. 2)Write a journal entry as if you were the protagonist. (You should already have a written letter from entry #9 or #13 or journal entries #4 or #11. REVISE, EDIT, AND COPY one of those OR create something new!)

6 THURSDAY, 12 FEBRUARY 2015 (IMAGERY SECTION) Put the book’s title and author across the top. Put your name on the right. Show your best writing. You could choose from Entries #6, #10, or #12. Copy and color these pictures!

7 FRIDAY, 13 FEBRUARY 2015 (PASSAGES SECTION) Put the book’s title and author across the top. Put your name on the right. Show your best writing. Do #1 or #2. 1)Write a letter to the author explaining what he/she did well when writing the book. 2)Write a journal entry as if you were the protagonist. (You should already have a written letter from entry #9 or #13 or journal entries #4 or #11. REVISE, EDIT, AND COPY one of those OR create something new!) Put the collage or imagery in this section. You could choose from Entries #6, #10, or #12. Copy and color these pictures! Copy your five favorite passages from the novel in correct MLA format in this section: “Be sure to use MLA format like this” (Last 33). You may use any of the citations from your previous entries, for example 1, 3, 6, or 7.
