7 Why was my hold cancelled? n In-library items at the user’s pickup library. n Items on the same campus as the pick-up location. n Items that are missing.

8 Jump to first page I wish to cancel / alter a hold. What do I do? n A user cannot cancel a hold. n Users may write to “Ask-A- Librarian” with the title of the item they do not need. n After two weeks, the hold will be removed from your record.

11 Jump to first page How may I request a non-circulating item? n User will need to use the “Request Article / Other” button. Note: Non-circulating items are delivered only between different Rutgers campuses (Camden, New Brunswick/Piscataway, Newark).

13 When else can I use the “Request Article/Other” button? n For items from a non-circulating library (Art, Jazz, SPCOL/UA). n For items from other non-circulating sub-locations (PER, DOCREF). n Materials that are ON-ORDER, PENDING, or IN-PROCESS. n Law library and off-campus patrons can use this to request Rutgers materials since they cannot use the Deliver/Recall button.

18 When is Web Document Delivery free? FROM: Any Major Geographical Campus Library TO: User’s home campus-affiliated PC COST: New Brunswick/Piscataway Camden or Newark FREE: up to 30 pages per article. If article exceeds 30 pages, the journal is sent to user’s pickup library for 5 days in- library use. NewarkNew Brunswick/Piscataway or Camden Camden New Brunswick/Piscataway or Newark Library Annex Any Location * There is no charge for Web Document Delivery of Interlibrary Loan articles.

20 Jump to first page What do I need to do to open a deposit account? There are two types of accounts: n Personal (individual) n Departmental (shared) Minimum of $30.00 required for opening Deposit Account. Forms for opening accounts are available on RUL web page.

22 How may I borrow material NOT owned at any Rutgers Library? n Option One : For quick delivery of books use E-ZBORROW (PALCI). n Option Two: For all article requests and books not found in the EZBORROW catalog use INTERLIBRARY LOAN.

23 Jump to first page When can I request an E-ZBorrow book? n CHECKED OUT n ON-HOLD for another user. n Listed in IRIS as MISSING. n Located in a non-circulating collection.

25 Jump to first page To get to the PALCI catalog, scroll over Search IRIS and Other Catalogs. Click on the link for E-ZBorrow, PALCI.

33 What else do I need to know about E-ZBorrow? n 28 day loan period n One renewal n Seven day recall policy n Delivery only to on-campus Rutgers pickup locations.

35 What may I borrow using Interlibrary Loan? n Books n Dissertations, newspapers n Periodical articles n Items not owned by RUL. n Items listed on IRIS as MISSING. n Recalled and not returned. n Long overdue and billed for replacement. n Items that are in the bindery.

36 Jump to first page How may I request materials held by the Rutgers Law Libraries? n If you are a Rutgers faculty, staff or student use the Interlibrary Loan Services form.

37 Jump to first page To get to the Interlibrary Loan login page, scroll over Delivery and Interlibrary Loan. Click on the link for Interlibrary Loan Services.

38 Jump to first page Enter your first name, last name, barcode number, email address, and choose a pickup location from the pull down menu. No pin number is required.

44 Always scan and discharge the item using the barcode on the band. The renewal policy is mentioned here. The recall policy is also mentioned. Any special restrictions are checked off in the middle. The Request ID number is noted here.

45 Jump to first page The Request ID number is noted here. Patrons should not return PALCI books to the address indicated on the band.

46 Jump to first page PALCI at the Circ. Desk n Upon return, discharge PALCI books promptly. n Patrons will receive an overdue notice when the book is just one day late. n PALCI books are returned to ILS.

47 Jump to first page ILL, PALCI Multi-volume sets at the Circulation Desk n There is only one hold on the first volume of a multi-volume sets. Use the “Check Item Status” wizard on the first volume and make the hold available. n Patron will get a hold-available notice from the first volume, and staff will be able to charge and discharge all volumes as usual.
