5 Why is a flow chart not sufficient? Theatrical Structure isn’t suited to a linear flow chart. There are multiple people above and below more than one group. Each specific theatre has a different way of running things. It can depend on the experience level of the staff. I tried for hours and couldn’t get it right! But for Masquers, it’s a little more straight forward

20 Stage Manager The person who is responsible for running rehearsals and performances and overseeing assistant stage managers. There is at least one additional stage manager on most productions, and musicals usually have two additional. During performances, one stage manager “calls,” or gives cues to technical crew who run lights, sound and sets. The other stage manager(s) supervise activity on the “deck,” or backstage, lending assistance to actors and running crews. From www.onlocationeducation.com/en/ole-glossary

22 Assistant to the Director Mainly an observership Duties can include: Taking notes Research Additional Set of Eyes The job is dependent on the director’s needs and the student’s experience and capability

23 Costume Design Assistant Help the designer locate needed pieces From the Oak Ridge Playhouse Costume Shop From stock From donations From the company Log all loaned items and check them in at the start and end of every rehearsal Keep track and coordinate any and all quick changes

24 Scenic Design Assistant Help the designer locate any and all scenery pieces and props From loans From donations From company Help schedule build days and coordinate community volunteers Log and check in all props before and after rehearsals Track all scenery moves needed and work alongside the stage manager to ensure the crew knows how to work all scenery changes

25 Lighting and Sound Design Assistants TBA We are currently in the process of finding designers, who will help us create a protocol for assistants
