Creative Title Name Teacher Class Date

Title each slide  Include only a few sentences at most in each slide.  Make sure that your using proper grammer and spelllng in your sentances?.  NEVER INCLUDE CURSE WORDS OR DEROGITORY COMMENTS!  Do not add a graphic just for fun, use graphics to assist your performance

Be careful of color!  Do not mix a light background with light text we won’t be able to read it. The same goes for a dark background with dark text. Having a basic background on all slides is fine. You do not get extra points for changing colors!

Use of Blank Slides  If you include a picture that is too graphic or distracting for the audience include a blank slide after the picture or include an animation device so the picture can be added and removed as needed.

Use citations for any quote you are including in your PowerPoint “I don’t really think, I just walk.” This is plagiarism and can cost you your grade. “I don’t really think, I just walk” (Hilton). NOW IT’S NOT!

Don’t use distracting graphics IIf you make your PowerPoint too active you will lose your audience. UUnlike your tech classes, the PowerPoint is not the main goal, the speech is. UUse common sense. If you are wasting a majority of the time on animation you are probably setting yourself up for disappointment! II DO NOT GIVE EXTRA POINTS FOR COOL ANIMATION!

Your slides accompany your speech.  Things to Do Have all of your needed slides Include citations and a works cited page Include all needed graphics and media Double check the slides Have the slides correspond with what you are saying  Things Not to Do Read off the slides Forget what comes next Include a video that is too long (45 second limit) Use youtube for your video. Expect everything to be perfect Make it and forget it

There is no minimum or maximum number of slides  Consider the length of your speech when making slides. If you can transition smoothly between multiple slides feel free to add extra.  Do NOT add extra slides hoping to take up time. You will look uncomfortable and awkward!

Video  You must have a video connected to your PowerPoint. Hyperlink or Embedded If your video does not play because of an error in the connection you lose the points- do a test run

Works Cited  Each citation is important and not having the proper citation can cost you a passing grade. Review the English Policy included in your syllabus if you are confused!  If you didn’t create it you need to include who did!
