1 From the Cradle to the Grave

2 The Importance of Jesus’ Words.
The Words of Jesus: The Importance of Jesus’ Words.

3 The Importance of Jesus’ Words
Mark 13:31 – “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.” The Importance of Jesus’ Words

4 How many people have been helped by the words of Jesus Christ?
Think of the number of times that preachers have used John 14:1-3, to comfort those who have lost a love one in death. “Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” The Importance of Jesus’ Words

5 The Importance of Jesus’ Words
When Heartbroken: John 14:18 – “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” In Salvation: John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” When Weary: Matthew 11:28-30; “Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest to your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” To the hungry Jesus is The Bread of Life! To the thirsty He is the Living Water! To the Bereaved He is The Resurrection and The Life! To the wandering He is The Way!   The Importance of Jesus’ Words

6 John 1:1; 14 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” The Importance of Jesus’ Words

7 Here we see Jesus’ Words tell us a number of things:
His Words tell us about His DESTINY! His Words tell us about His DIVINITY! His Words tell us about His DWELLING! The Importance of Jesus’ Words

8 1. His Words tell us about His DESTINY!
Hebrews 13:8 - “His Word will not pass away. Heaven and Earth will pass away, but not one word which has come from the mouth of God will pass away.” Jesus will reign forever! The Words of Jesus are eternal. You can trust Him and His words! God is the only one who will not fail you or let you down. Proverbs. 30:5 – “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.” The Importance of Jesus’ Words

9 2. His Words tell us about His DIVINITY!
Jesus as the Word of God is God. Jesus Christ is the picture, the pattern, the expression, the very image of what God wanted to say to mankind. Hebrews 1:1-3. He is above all things. He has created all things. We worship Jesus Christ as the Divine Son of God.  The Importance of Jesus’ Words

10 3. His Words tell us about His DWELLING!
“and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” When Jesus came the first time we call it “the Incarnation.” When you ask Him to come into your life we call this the “second Incarnation.” He dwells in us. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 – “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” The Importance of Jesus’ Words
