North Indian Ocean ICCWG On going coordination of INT charting and ENC coverage with the NIOHC region in accordance with its ToR. Concerns over cooperation between ICCWG regional coordinators – issues identified: – Chart allocation – lack of communication between regional coordinators to resolve issues – Same chart being allocated 2 separate INT numbers within 2 regions – Encouragement of adjoining regional coordinators to attend NIOHC NIOHC Report to IRCC7

IHO Capacity Building 2014 Capacity building activities since IRCC6 have included: – Technical visit to Jordan – Advanced ENC production courses in Bangladesh and Myanmar – Joint MSI course run with RSAHC NIOHC Report to IRCC7

Status of IRCC6 Actions The NIOHC Chair reported the status of the IRCC actions in relation to NIOHC – individual details can be seen in the NIOHC report to IRCC7. NIOHC Report to IRCC7

Cooperation with other organisations The 15 th NIOHC was attend by: – GEBCO – IALA – PERSGA (Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden) – CMF (Combined Maritime Forces) NIOHC Report to IRCC7

Conclusions MS proposed the following topics to be noted at IRCC7: – Bangladesh’s experience in data collection and product generation within a dynamic river environment. – Maximising Hydrographic Data, NIOHC would encourage IRCC to produce an IHO resolution; – Discussions on Data Centricity and inclusion as a NIOHC standing agenda item and possible general RHC standing agenda item ; NIOHC Report to IRCC7

Conclusions Concerns over the cooperation in relation to INT coordinators: – chart allocation – lack of communication between regional coordinators to resolve issues – Same chart being allocated 2 separate INT numbers within 2 regions – Encouragement of adjoining regional coordinators to attend NIOHC NIOHC Report to IRCC7

Achievements and Lessons Learned Successful CBSC training courses INT charting – increase in coverage and currency ENC scheme – acceptable coverage for UB1-3 and refinements due to changing shipping underway
